How do I create an account?
Click the 'Get Started' button on the homepage and choose your preferred sign-up method — email, Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, or GitHub. You'll be guided through the process in under a minute.
Do I need to pay for courses on YTCourse?
No. All courses on YTCourse are completely free. There are no paid plans, subscriptions, or hidden fees. You only need a free account to track your progress and earn certificates.
How do I enroll in a course?
Browse the courses page, find a course that interests you, and click 'Start Course' or 'Enroll'. The course will be added to your dashboard and you can begin learning immediately.
Can I browse courses without signing up?
Yes. You can browse all courses, view course content, and read descriptions without an account. You only need to sign up when you want to enroll and track your progress.
What do I need to start learning?
Just a free account and a device with internet access. All course content is delivered through YouTube videos, so any device that can play YouTube videos will work.
How do I find courses on specific topics?
Use the search bar on the courses page to search by keyword. You can also filter by difficulty level, topic, or tags to narrow down your options.
How do I request a new course?
Go to your learner dashboard and click 'Request a Course' in the sidebar. Fill out the form with the course topic, YouTube link (if available), and any additional details. Our team reviews every request.
How long does it take for a request to be reviewed?
Most requests are reviewed within 3-5 business days. You'll receive a notification when the status of your request changes. High-demand topics may be prioritized.
Can I suggest a specific YouTube channel or playlist?
Yes. When submitting a request, include the YouTube channel name or playlist URL. We evaluate channels based on content quality, production value, and educational relevance.
How do I check the status of my course request?
Your learner dashboard has a dedicated 'My Requests' section showing all your submitted requests and their current status — Pending, Under Review, Approved, or Declined.
What happens when my request is approved?
Once approved, the course enters our content pipeline. Our team curates the YouTube content, structures it into chapters and lessons, generates summaries and quizzes, and publishes it. You'll be notified when it goes live.
Why was my course request declined?
Requests may be declined if the content doesn't meet our quality standards, lacks sufficient educational value, overlaps significantly with existing courses, or if the source material is too short or unstructured.
Can I request the same course again if it was declined?
Yes. If your request was declined, you can resubmit with additional context or a different source. Make sure to explain why the content would make a good structured learning experience.
Is there a limit on how many courses I can request?
No. You can submit as many course requests as you'd like. We encourage you to request topics you're genuinely interested in learning — it helps us prioritize what matters most to our community.
How are courses structured?
Each course is divided into chapters, and each chapter contains individual lessons. Lessons are built around YouTube videos with curated start and end times. At the end of each chapter, there is a quiz to test your understanding.
What happens when I complete a chapter?
After watching all lessons in a chapter, you can take a chapter quiz. Once you score 100% on the quiz, the chapter is marked complete and you can move to the next one.
Can I skip ahead to later chapters?
Yes. You can navigate to any chapter or lesson from the sidebar. However, your progress will only be tracked for lessons you actually watch. Course completion requires finishing all chapters and passing all quizzes.
How are YouTube videos used in lessons?
Each lesson links to a specific YouTube video with curated start and end times. This means you watch exactly the segment relevant to the lesson's topic, without having to search or scrub through the video yourself.
What happens if a YouTube video is removed?
We monitor course content regularly. If a video becomes unavailable, we flag the course for review and work to find an alternative source or update the affected lessons.
Are courses updated when content changes?
Yes. Courses covering frameworks, tools, and technologies are reviewed quarterly against the latest stable releases. Each course page shows its last-reviewed date.
How do I change my password?
Go to your account settings from the dashboard dropdown menu. Under 'Security', you'll find the option to update your password. You'll need to enter your current password first.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. In your account settings, scroll to the bottom and click 'Delete Account'. This will permanently remove your profile, progress data, and certificates. This action cannot be undone.
How do I update my profile?
Click on your avatar or name in the top navigation bar, select 'Settings', and update your name, avatar, or other profile information. Changes save automatically.
Can I change the email address on my account?
Yes. In your account settings, go to the 'Email' section. You'll need to verify the new email address before the change takes effect.
How do I link or unlink social login accounts?
In your account settings under 'Connected Accounts', you can link or unlink Google, Facebook, LinkedIn, and GitHub accounts. You must have at least one login method connected at all times.
What information do you store about me?
We store your name, email address, profile picture, and course progress data. See our Privacy Policy for full details on how we handle your information.
Is my progress saved automatically?
Yes. Your progress is saved in real time as you watch lessons and complete quizzes. You can close the browser and resume exactly where you left off on any device.
What happens if I switch devices?
Your progress is tied to your account, not your device. Simply sign in on any device and all your courses, progress, and certificates will be available.
Can I reset my progress in a course?
Not currently. If you'd like to revisit a course, you can navigate to any lesson from the sidebar. We're working on a reset feature for a future update.
How is lesson progress measured?
The video player tracks how much of the lesson video you've watched. You need to watch at least 80% of the video for the lesson to be marked as completed.
What does 'course complete' mean?
A course is marked as complete when you have finished all chapters — meaning all lessons are watched and all chapter quizzes are passed with a score of 100%.
Can I see my overall learning statistics?
Yes. Your learner dashboard shows your total enrolled courses, completed courses, hours watched, and certificates earned. More detailed statistics are coming soon.
How do I earn a certificate?
Complete all chapters in a course, including scoring 100% on every chapter quiz. Once done, a certificate of completion will be available for download from the course summary page.
Where can I download my certificates?
All your earned certificates are available on your learner dashboard. Click the 'Certificates' tab in the sidebar to view and download any certificate.
What information is on the certificate?
Each certificate includes your name, the course title, the date of completion, and a unique verification ID. You can share the verification ID so others can confirm your achievement.
Can I share my certificate on LinkedIn?
Yes. Each certificate includes a verification ID that can be added to your LinkedIn profile under 'Licenses & Certifications' to verify your achievement.
Are certificates accredited or recognized?
YTCourse certificates acknowledge course participation and completion. They are not academic credits, professional certifications, or formal qualifications unless expressly stated on the course page.
Can I get a replacement for a lost certificate?
Yes. All your earned certificates are stored in your account. Simply log in, go to your dashboard, and download any certificate again.
